About the Resort
Shady Nook Resort is Located in a private setting on the shores of the Chippewa Flowage. Near Hayward, Wisconsin, Shady Nook Resort offers comfortable lodging in classic log cabins built in the 1940's. The main lodge has a rustic log bar serving cocktails, beer, pop, candy, pizza. Also available: bait, gas, oil, souvenirs and other items you might need while on your vacation---along with countless theories on how to catch fish!!!
The Lake
Lake Chippewa is 30 miles long and 18 miles wide; its rugged shoreline is cut by numerous bays and channels, its wide expanse dotted by hundreds of islands. In the heavily wooded areas around the lake you’ll find eagles, osprey, blue herons, loons, ducks, grouse, otter, beaver, mink, raccoon, deer, bear, and other small game. The Chippewa Flowage has proven to be one of the best fishing lakes in the country. Add the undeveloped shoreline, and you have a true wilderness experience!
